Mining mafia 'subverted' the State, says I-T dept note

The departments namely - Forest, Revenue, Mines and Geology, Transport and Police are to give their responses to the Committee before September 10. The committee constituted on August 18, held its first meeting on Wednesday. While Jairaj is the chairperson, senior officers Shamim Banu, Subhir Hari Singh and Meera Saxena are members of the Committee. Commerce and Industries principal secretary B S Ramprasad has been appointed as the convenor. All five officers were present during the meeting. The second meeting is scheduled for September 10.
