Centre challenges SC order on SPOs; files review petition

"MV Sinin, hijacked by Somali pirates, has been released today (Saturday). Total crew of 21, including 9 Indians, are reported safe," said the statement from the Directorate General of Shipping.The ship owners have provided for replenishment of stores/fuel and security for the vessel which will reach Colombo by Aug 19. The vessel is likely to be dry docked for extensive inspection.MV Sinin is a 52,000-ton Malta flagged and owned bulk carrier. The ship was attacked by Somali pirates 315 nautical miles off Masirah (Oman) when she was on a journey to Singapore from Fujairah, the UAE.Any further information on the release of the ship was unavailable.
